Turkey Exchange Programs Officially Launch at Kabataş High School
As part of the WCEP Intercultural Student Exchange Program, Canadian high school students are visiting Turkey for the very first time. The program’s inaugural phase has commenced at the renowned Kabataş High School in Istanbul.
This enriching initiative offers students a unique opportunity to engage with the Turkish education system, immerse themselves in daily life with host families, acquire foundational Turkish language skills, and explore the country's profound historical and cultural heritage. Beginning in Istanbul and gradually expanding to other cities throughout Turkey, the program aims to provide a transformative academic and cultural experience for all participants.
Fostering Cross-Cultural Understanding
Volkan Cerrahoğlu, Chairman of the Board at WCEP and The Canadian Institute, shared his reflections on the launch:
“This initiative represents far more than a traditional exchange program; it serves as a platform for fostering intercultural awareness, cultivating global perspectives, and nurturing enduring international friendships. As our students gain a deeper understanding of Turkey, they will also contribute meaningfully to the strengthening of academic and social bonds between our two nations.”
